Money can’t buy everything? It can buy a GOP nomination for Congress, specifically Indiana’s 5th Congressional District (INCD5). Victoria Spartz probably brings a sparkle to the eye of the man who runs the USA.
Spartz never has won a general election - ever. The office of State senator was bestowed upon her by GOP caucus. Her website displays, overall and on specific issues, a depth of knowledge on a par with another GOP House Rep who comes to mind - Louie Gohmert.
Spartz’s…

Victoria Spartz was the highest bidder for GOP votes in the June 2 GOP primary for Indiana’s 5th Congressional District (INCD5). Her position guns is amongst her worst: “We must preserve our 2nd Amendment freedoms against the tyranny of the government...”
A greater tyranny is that of domestic violence carried out each day by people who, if they lacked the more-easily lethal means of a gun at hand, would not kill. I have yet to see anyone brandish a firearm to deter the Federal or a…

Dear Mr Neil Young: As Republican Party precinct committee person (“PC”) for Washington Township, 21-02, Marion County, Indiana (on the north side of Indianapolis), I must express my displeasure.
Your reaction to the trump campaign’s use of several of your songs is unfair and, because of your recent acquisition of U.S. citizenship, an expression that belies ignorance of the American way of life.
First, if not you, to whom would trump’s campaign turn to plagiarize? Given the…

Indiana’s 5th Congressional District (INCD5) is viewed as “flippable” by both major political parties. Victoria Spartz spent a ton of money to buy the June 2 GOP primary. Ms Spartz’s stand on one set of issues is particularly troubling.
From Ms. Spartz’s website, under “National Defense and Military”: “A strong national defense is one of the main functions of the federal government. We must keep our military strong and provide better services to our veterans.”
A good first step…

Kyle Hupfer, Indiana GOP chair, sent out an e-mail this morning seeking to raise funds for Victoria Spartz, who already made a huge down payment, via the June 2 primary, toward final purchase of a seat in the U.S. House, INCD5.
Hupfer said: “If we have any hope of winning back the House and FIRING Speaker Pelosi once and for all, we have to support Victoria and get her across the finish line.”
This e-mail disgusts me. I am GOP precinct committee person for Washington Township…

Cookie jars must be very big in Ukraine. Victoria Spartz socked away enough money to buy a seat in Congress via the June 2 GOP primary for INCD5. Her issue stands are ill-founded and make little sense, like her views on “Business Regulations.”
From Ms. Spartz’s website: “Free enterprise is the foundation of our country. We must limit regulation powers of the executive branch and maintain a vibrant business environment, so entrepreneurs and small businesses can strive and compete with…

Where did Victoria Spartz obtain so much money that she could buy the GOP nomination for Indiana’s 5th Congressional District (INCD5) in the June 2 primary? Her issue stands are absurd. To pick one at random let’s look at what she says about budget deficits.
From Ms. Spartz’s website: “Our national debt is unsustainable. We must cut spending, reform welfare to empower, not suppress low income individuals, and balance the budget.”
Let’s skip over, for a moment, “cut spending”…

Victoria Spartz successfully purchased the GOP nomination for Indiana’s 5th Congressional District (INCD5) in the June 2 primary. Her positions on issues are abhorrent. One of the worst is her position on guns.
On her campaign website Ms. Spartz states: “We must preserve our 2nd Amendment freedoms against the tyranny of the government...” There have been no encroachments on “2nd Amendment freedoms.” On the other hand, we see tyranny advance each day.
“The accumulation of all…

Victoria Spartz successfully bought the Republican nomination for Indiana’s 5th Congressional District (INCD5) in the June 2 primary. Her positions on issues are deplorable. We should begin with her misunderstanding of The Constitution.
“Our constitutional republic was created with limited government functions to protect the individual rights to Life, Liberty and Property,” she states on her campaign website.
The word “property” appears once in The Constitution of 1787: “The…

Mundane aspects of existence can be galling. I’m lucky - I’m a white male born in the USA in the mid-1950s. I saw a person in an unmarked car with cop plates pull quickly the wrong way on a one-way street.
The driver exited the vehicle - sorry if I start to write like a person who authors a probable cause affidavit, but I see a lot of those in my job - wore shorts and a t-shirt. That person walked to the opposite side of the vehicle.
The person who exited the passenger side…

Rev Al Sharpton today was quoted as saying NFL owners should offer Colin Kaepernick a QB roster spot. I agree with the sentiment - Kaepernick is talented was right to take a knee, but I hope very much that he not take such a job.
For far too long young people have played football, the main dynamic of which is full contact explosive violence against one’s opponents. In the early 1980s the Monday Night Football half-time highlights featured the ugliest plays of the week.

This country would have been better off had delegates to the 1787 Constitutional Convention not compromised on slavery. The most significant issue before the Convention never was mentioned in the Constitution passed out of the Convention.
In Art. I, sec. 2 we read of “three fifths of all other Persons” - a way to count slaves for the benefit of slave States. In Art I, sec. 9: “Migration or Importation of such Persons as any of the States now existing shall think proper to admit”…

Random bits as this primary election day begins: protesters and cops joined together in Indy to march. Other places in USA police took a knee to express support for the protests. In D.C., trump used a bible as a prop and a church as back-drop to foment hatred.
Evidence that those who carried out violence acted to discredit the protests: no trump properties were attacked. And hey - they’re easily recognized, what with his name in big letters on each building he erects.
Mayor…

People of this country are not to be “run over” - and in their protests do not seek to “run over” anyone, regardless of the opinion of the current occupant of the Oval Office. Our People should be able peacefully to exercise their First Amendment rights without fear of reprisal by anyone.
Our Governor and the Mayor in each of our cities need to:
1) meet immediately with leaders of communities that most frequently suffer the effects of police violence;
2) address - and…

Yesterday the news reported how many people have mailed in their ballots for tomorrow’s (June 2) primary election. If you have not voted, please do not be dissuaded from going to the polls to cast your vote.
I shop for food and other essentials at a store that also sells books. The past few times I’ve gone there, one book amongst “best sellers” has been turned so as to hide the cover. The first time I thought it was a mistake and turned the book back around.
Convincing people…

I listened to a total of 15 minutes of Rob Kendall’s radio show, on Fox affiliate WIBC, this afternoon. To hear him, the City of Indianapolis is under siege by radical left wing radicals and a wimp Governor and wimp Mayor are AWOL.
Rob seems not to understand that acts of terrorism in this country are perpetrated largely by the right wing. There are left wing “eco-terrorists” - but they target things, not people. If you want old-fashioned terror against people, those on the right do…

As people die across the country due to the incompetence of the current occupant of the Oval Office, I believe we need to focus on what candidates in Tuesday's primary for Indiana's 5th Congressional District can do to help - with healing, not with stoking fires of hatred.

I’m different from the other white people who seek the GOP nomination for Indiana’s 5th Congressional District in the June 2 primary. I believe we have to return to the original values of the Republican Party.
The Republican Party held values that emphasized racial equality and justice. President Lincoln sought to keep the country together despite the wickedness that had been built into our nation’s structure in The Constitution.
Other Republican candidates brag about their…

MONEY MONEY MONEY: laments Carlo, a Russian artist in the 1936 classic “My Man Godfrey,” who (ironically) freeloads on Carole Lombard’s fictional family, the Bullocks.
Today I received an e-mail from Nurse Beth Henderson, one of my opponents in the June 2 primary for the GOP nomination for U.S. House in Indiana’s 5th Congressional District. She bemoans other candidates spending $$$$$.
Nurse Beth has some pretty slick ads. She also has some pretty slick, monied interest groups…
