Where the far left and far right overlap for fun and enlightenment

Last weekend GOP people were caught up in religious fervor...

Last weekend, internet posts from various Republican officials might have been mistaken as messages for posts by the more extreme strains of evangelical Christianity. People at the fore of this iteration of the GOP seem intent upon taking this State & this country into theocracy. 1/5

The Framers of The Constitution never intended a theocracy. In the 234 years since The Constitution was ratified, beliefs about religion and in specific religions gained protection. That’s why I would point out that we are in the month of Ramadan, celebrated by members of the 2/5

Islamic faith, as the month when The Prophet received the first of the revelations that became The Koran. This year Ramadan runs from March 22 to April 20. There are significant similarities between Islam and Christianity. Both trace their origins from the Covenant with Abraham. 3/5

There are differences betw Islam and Christianity. A minority among Christians believe the bible is the actual word of their god. Sometimes called “fundamentalists” they ignore the history of the bible as the product of committee. If you are curious as to why no such distinction exists in 4/5

Islam, I would suggest you read The Koran. I’m Mark Small: pro-choice, pro-civil rights, pro-environment, pro-separation of church & State and anti-trump. I’m GOP candidate for City-County Council District 2. I approve of this message. Hell, I wrote it. 5/5

Yeah, I'm not sure I've ever run across a single Republican who has advocated for a theocracy.  This is a liberal boogeyman.
