Where the far left and far right overlap for fun and enlightenment

We need to limit the number of guns a person can own

1) Gun people should get over it: we elected an African-American President who did a good job. 2) We should limit the number of guns a person can own. On point 1: it wasn’t the beige suits or that he was left-wing (he wasn’t). He was Black. Racism runs deep in the USA. Mel Brooks 1/5

satirized it in “Blazing Saddles.” Some people laugh at that film w/o realizing it’s making fun of people like them. On point 2: Photos on-line show smiling gun owners with 50 or 60 guns spread out on the ground. The 2nd Amend doesn’t mean a person has a right to possess any kind of weapon at any time for any purpose. D.C., et. al. v. Heller, 554 U.S. 570, 626 (2008). 2/5

Art. I, sec. 32 of our Indiana Constitution implies limits: “The people shall have a right to bear arms, for the defense of themselves and the State.” Art. I, sec 28 defines, and sec. 29 states basis for conviction of treason against the State. The right to bear arms never was to fight gov’t. 3/5

People claim to be gun “collectors,” but really own so many guns with a vague idea they’ll need those guns, especially if the GOP loses more elections. But more guns in a home means greater likelihood guns are lost or stolen. We need limits on numbers. In 1925 the KKK ran Indiana. 4/5

Racism always has been a problem here & in the rest of the USA. Guns cause problems and don’t solve any. I’m Mark Small: pro-choice, pro-civil rts & anti-gun GOP candidate for Indiana House Distr 86. I approve of this blog. Hell, I wrote it. 5/5
