trump engaged, &/or aided & abetted others, in insurrection. “Overwhelming” is accurate to describe evidence of trump’s guilt; a summary is in the report of Special Prosecutor Jack Smith [FN1], released yesterday. [FN2] He notes trump &trump’s allies’conduct went 1/8
“well beyond speaking their minds or contesting” election results via our legal system. trump targeted a key federal government function: collecting, counting & certifying results of the presidential election & “sought to obstruct or defeat it through fraud and deceit.” [FN3] 2/8
If trump is allowed to take office on 1/20, we do not face 2 years of Congressional gridlock & a re-boot after the 2026 mid-terms. A coup d’etat began in 2015, fueled & directed by the leader of a hostile foreign power, Russia. They have gone to great lengths to install a dictator. 3/8
This is a cluster of emergencies, both national and global. If trump takes an oath he already has shown he will repudiate, it will be too late. Another nation’s ruler used democratic means to the end of grabbing control & declaring himself dictator: Adolf Hitler. We still have time. 4/8
Pres Biden can act on the nat’l emergency already declared, i.e., Russian interference in our elections, and prevent trump from taking office. Call, write or use other peaceful media & tell Pres Biden he must act, otherwise, WRSF. 5/8
