Justice Center: the "green" party really in control

The “Justice Center” that houses the court systems of Marion County/Indianapolis is a marvel of absolutely bad planning. First it guts part of downtown Indy by moving, a couple of miles south east, our courts. A lot of jobs went with the building. There is a vacuum on Market Street. 1/4

Second, the building is sterile. Apparently designed by the same architects as designed the Indy airport, one has the impression that flight information will be on the videos. Third, there is no common area where people meet. In City-County four courts were on each floor. 2/4

In the Justice Center, courts are randomly assigned to rooms. It seems that human interaction is minimized. Our Courts increasingly eliminate humans. Hearings are frequently on video. Now we have a courthouse where the Courts are hard to access & people are incidental. 3/4

Whatever well-placed donors to political campaigns made a bunch off of this deal are as hard to discern as the place of one’s hearing. I’m Mark Small. I’m pro-choice, pro environment, pro-civil rts & GOP candidate for Ind House Distr 86. I approve of this blog. Hell, I wrote it. 4/4
