Where the far left and far right overlap for fun and enlightenment

In a country awash w/war surplus available for cops, what tech don't they have?

Tuesday May 2: primary elections! Armed idiots at polling places have been used to scare ppl away from voting. Prior to the May, 1925, primary, the Chief of the Indianapolis P.D. issued orders to keep members of the Horse Thief Detective Ass’n from all public polling places. 1/6

The association was the KKK’s “enforcement,” sought to intimidate voters who were hostile to the Klan & members drove through black neighborhoods & displayed their guns as a warning for blacks “to stay home.” Lutholtz, “Grand Dragon,” 1991, p. 213. Matt Hills, my opponent 2/6

in Tuesday’s primary, says keeping neighborhoods safe is his “number one priority” and he will “give our public safety professionals the resources and technology they need to keep us safe.” This is a mindset developed in war zones. Hills was in the military for 10 years. Tours in 3/6

Iraq and Afghanistan apparently provided little insight to him. This country has bombed the shit out of places for decades. Technology didn’t work to advance U.S. interests in those countries (outside of stocks for military contractors going up). What military hardware do cops lack? 4/6

If we view ourselves as being at “war” with our own (usually not white & nearly always poor) people, we shall fail. But if we are to focus on tech, let’s remove guns from the equation. We can start w/weapons that hold a lot of rounds and are designed to shoot a lot of bullets fast. 5/6

A majority of Hoosiers favor background checks & limits on assault-style weapons. I’m Mark Small: pro-civil rts, anti-gun, anti-TIF & pro-choice GOP candidate for City-County Council District 2. I approve of this message. Hell, I wrote it. 6/6
