Variants have emerged because COVID has been given a wide field to propagate. The more people get infected, the greater the number of viruses and the greater the opportunity to allow mutations that resist some vaccines to survive and become dominant.

Now is not the time to demean people who glorify ignorance, but neither is it the time to nod thoughtfully and say, “They have a point.” They have no “point.” They are causing people to die. We need to reintroduce science to our schools so that ignorance does not propagate like the COVID it has done so much to foster.
