Evangelicals have political power far in excess of their numbers in Indiana & in violation of separation of church and State. Abuse or neglect of a child is a criminal act. One may reasonably infer that evangelicals believe causing a child to go to hell is harmful to that child. 1/5
Parents have a fundamental rt to raise their children, but this rt is not absolute. In re K.T.K. 989 N.E.2d 1225, 1230 (Ind. 2013). When parents are unwilling to meet parental responsibilities, their parental rights may be terminated. In re Ma.H., 134 N.E.3d 41, 45-46 (Ind. 2019). 2/5
Evangelicals complain of discrimination, yet use political power to discriminate against others. No one has claimed parents who do not believe as evangelicals are guilty of child abuse or neglect - yet. This is not limited to parents who are atheist, agnostic, Buddhist or other beliefs. 3/5
There are those who see critical distinctions between baptism by complete immersion or “just sprinkling.” History tells us why religion & gov’t should be separate. Wars have been fought between believers of Christianity against each other. Everyone should be concerned. 4/5
Make sure you are registered to vote. In November don’t vote for GOP candidates for U.S. House or U.S. Senate. I’m Mark Small: pro-choice, pro environment, pro-science & GOP candidate for Indiana House District 86. I approve of this blog. Hell, I wrote it. 5/5
