One part of The Constitution has been bastardized and its reasons for existence ignored for the past 25 years. Art II establishes “electors” as a mechanism to select the head of the Executive branch. Hamilton wrote that “if it be not perfect it is at least excellent.” [FN1] 1/8

This was one of the last issues decided by the delegates, [FN2] who never describe electors as strategy. “Nothing was to be more desired than that every practicable obstacle should be opposed to cabal, intrigue, and corruption.” [FN3] Today seven “swing” States decide. [FN4] 2/8

In 2020, trump had “alternate electors” to be substituted for the electors rightfully chosen by their respective States’ popular vote. Russia’s dictator owns trump & helped trump take the Oval Office in 2016. Cabal? Intrigue? A big helping of Corruption? And... 3/8

the seven “swing” States obtained their status arbitrarily, not because those States offer intrinsic qualities that benefit all. One last thing: “winner-take-all” in who gets the electors of a given State came into vogue after the 1824 election. If trump re-takes the Oval Office? 4/8

trump’s getting even w/the “enemies within.” I’m a pacifist, but I’d be ashamed if I’m not on that list. At this point, any candidate on the GOP ballot has Micah Beckwith’s [FN5] face. Beckwith says only Christians have the capacity to be moral. [FN6] 5/8
