For the first time since the Cuban Missile Crisis, when I was in 2nd grade, there is very real talk of nuclear war. Evangelicals w/whom I’ve disagreed on issues maintain people who do not believe in their specific supreme deity cannot be “moral.” An insane Russian 1/6
named Putin, at any minute, could give a launch order and, as a result, cause most of the Earth to be incinerated. The next “act,” according to “Revelation,” is the 2nd coming. People who believe such a nuclear is good are not moral & I’m sick of their lectures. 2/6
People who are suicidal are denied access to firearms. It is no less reasonable to refuse to allow people who believe nuclear war is good to be in control of nuclear launch codes. To clarify: it is one thing to proclaim one’s faith. Christians overwhelmingly oppose nuclear war. otoh... 3/6
Jerry Falwell, founder of (the ironically named) Liberty Univ, opposed a freeze on nukes & smiled when he talked about blood being so deep as to come up to the bridles of horses. Not many people would need to be in place to turn keys & enter those launch codes. 4/6
We need to get rid of nukes. In the meantime we should remove anyone from a position from which she or he could launch missiles. Gun nuts say, after a mass shooting, “now” isn’t the time to talk about gun control. We won’t get a chance to see a 2nd nuke war. 5/6
I’m Mark Small. I favor separation of church and State. I’m pro-choice, pro environment, pro-civil rts & anti-gun. I’m GOP candidate for Indiana House District 86. I approve of this blog. Hell, I wrote it. 6/6
