By Jan 20, we should know whether The Constitution is dead or on metaphorical life support. Of course a whole passel of possibilities can be listed, but two paths are the most likely.
One consists of trump being inaugurated on Jan 20 and keeping the promises he has made. 1/6
1) Promises trump has made while ambulatory & speaking in public. The main/most troubling of these is that trump will be a dictator and get even. trump might lie about many things, but he is dependable on vows of cowardly, mean-spirited acts of vengeance. 2/6
2) Promises trump has made in private. In NYC real estate, trump saw/was an arm’s-length party to transactions involving the Mafia. Russian banks (i.e., Putin) now own trump and have made clear to him why he can’t disobey them. [And: follow Cassie Jackson on Facebook!] 3/6
One path consists of Pres Biden invoking emergency powers to fulfilling his oath to “preserve, protect and defend” the Constitution from trump, who is disqualified from holding office by Amend XIV, sec 3 of The Constitution. And, of course, there’s so much more. 4/6
Each day we learn of still more betrayal of the United States by a person who never won an election that was legal. The rest of the world is watching and crying or laughing as more items of election hacking come to light. But maga world has been trained to ignore facts. 5/6
In either instance we face authoritarian rule. One at least will try to have an end-date in an effort to rectify the damage trump has done to this country on behalf of an Enemy of the United States. The other, guaranteed to be permanent & benefits that Enemy, is treason. 6/6
