Where the far left and far right overlap for fun and enlightenment

Would a Lt Gov Beckwith hire people not capable of morality, or can they convert to get a job w/the State?

If you are not Christian, you lack the capacity to be moral. At least that’s what Micah Beckwith, GOP nominee [FN1] for IN Lt Gov said in a selfie video s/he posted to Facebook in 2019 w/the title “The Church’s role in politics.” [FN2] 1/8

IN Lt Gov assumes the office of Governor in case the Governor dies or is incapacitated. [FN3] A few questions arise from Beckwith’s having pre-judged people on the basis of their beliefs. Beckwith avoids confrontation & tries to fly under radar. 2/8

Some people see only a smiling, cleaned-up fellow who says he loves his country. To make sure voters have the most accurate info possible, they should consider the following:
a) Beckwith makes a big deal out of “morality.” [FN4] 3/8

b) We may reasonably infer that Beckwith wants “moral” people in gov’t.
c) In the event that Beckwith becomes IN Lt Gov, and in that office, or any later office he might hold, will he hire only Christians? 4/8

d) Can a person who otherwise is qualified for a specific job in IN gov’t, but, to use Beckwith’s examples, is an “Hindu, atheist or a Jew,” convert to Christianity & be eligible for State employment? 5/8

e) If that person converts to a denomination or form of Christianity in which baptism by complete immersion is not required, but only “sprinkling” is sufficient, is that person really a Christian?
f) Can you allow people previously employed by the State, who are not Christians, continue that employment? 6/8

These are legit questions to pose to someone who seeks public office & especially if that person is trying to fly under the radar as a clean-cut guy. This is not an effort to stop him from taking office because s/he’s a Christian, but because s/he won’t allow any beliefs but her/his own. Remember: #BrainsNotBraun 7/8

Footnotes:
FN1. This iteration of the Republican Party, after a hostile take-over by the far right, bears no resemblance to “the party of Lincoln.”
FN2. 10/24/19 video, “The Church’s role in politics.”
FN3. Ind. Const. Art. V, §10.
FN4. Beckwith’s view of morality probably is not shared by many voters. 8/8
