Illinois Gov Pritzker held a press conference this afternoon to announce a lawsuit that Illinois has filed [FN1] to enjoin trump, et al, [FN2] from acts of invasion [FN3] & illegal use of the Nat’l Guard to that end. The Complaint sounds in ten (10) counts. [FN4] 1/10

Parallels exist betw what trump/maga are doing to our Nation & what NSDAP did in 1933 to Germany. There are differences, such as gov’t officials like Gov Pritzker, Illinois A.G. Kwame Raoul, and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson standing up to a would-be dictator. 2/10

Gov Pritzker underlined a duty each of us has: peaceful protests are being made out to be mob violence to justify trump’s actions. In Aug 2023, I stood near the back of the room, next to podcast host John Schmitz, of a meeting of HEPL’s board of trustees. [FN5] 3/10

Afterward, John said attendees were a “mob,” I said he was silly. Hell, 2 cops, standing a few feet away, in full uniform & under a duty to arrest anyone who, in their presence, breaks the law, did not even tell people to calm down. Citizens, we have to correct bullshit, because 4/10

if the far right’s absurd descriptions of otherwise mundane events go unchallenged, then that’s a reality, no matter how erroneous, that people will tend to have. We don’t get information from Edward R Murrow anymore. That is a responsibility that we all share. 5/10
