Where the far left and far right overlap for fun and enlightenment

We need not time-travel to foresee what will happen “day one” if the magaGOP [FN1] ticket for IN Gov/Lt Gov wins. A significant typo in that ticket must be given context. Micah Beckwith [FN2] announced in June 2023, s/he’d try to be the party nominee for Lt Gov. [FN3] 1/13

Sen Braun won the primary on May 7 & announced her/his “pick” for Lt Gov May 8. [FN4] As noted here, neither Braun nor her/his campaign hyped that pick. [FN5] So Braun either a) has her/his mind on deeper matters or b) is clueless. You decide. In a 03/22/22 media call 2/13

Braun said States should be allowed to ban interracial marriage. [FN6] [FN7] The reaction was so negative that, on the same day, Braun said “I misunderstood the question.” [FN8] [FN9]
Even if Braun & Beckwith hold a joint press conference & swear Beckwith, if elected 3/13

LT Gov, will obey/do anything Braun says, such promises are unenforceable. Once elected & sworn in, that’s it. IN Gov can’t order LT Gov to do/not do a damn thing, but LT Gov presides over the Senate. [FN10] Beckwith can effectively shut things down in a snit. [FN11] 4/13

Or Beckwith can demand Braun resign because “God” has told Beckwith this should be so. That brings me back to the typo. The ticket should be Beckwith alone as s/he has gotten the press & poses a real threat for higher office because of 891 delegates’ votes. 5/13

That’s the story of the magaGOP. Their cult of personality is centered on a man who never has had the most votes in a gen’l election. They take the Oval Office because of one of the vestiges of slavery: electors. #BrainsNotBraun 6/13
