A majority of people in the USA opposed overturning Roe v Wade. CNN’s polling, since 1989, never has shown more than 36% favoring overturning Roe. Gerrymandering, packing the Court and less-than-candid testimony by GOP nominees to the Court ended with Roe’s reversal. 1/5

People who do not face crises of unwanted pregnancies can be self-righteous. But 1 in 4 women have an abortion at some point. I’ve met none who either were glib about the experience or who regretted it. Their reasons were varied, but that doesn’t matter. They have that right. 2/5

The Roberts Court may have reversed Roe, but it cannot dissolve a right. That anti-choice zealots want to ban contraceptives tells you they really want to ban sex outside of the marriage of 1 man and 1 woman, and a pool attendant or 2. That has worked so well for Jerry Falwell, Jr. 3/5

The Court took decades to recover from Taney, C.J. Pending recovery from the current Court, the wealthy will have access to safe abortions. They’ll try to make it illegal to travel elsewhere for an abortion. If they can hit people with felonies, they’ll take out votes. 4/5
