Among recent TV ads [FN1] I find most offensive is that of GOP candidate for Governor “Ted for Illinois” (“IL”) Dabrowski. Joe Abraham talks about his daughter who was “murdered by an immigrant Goveror Pritsker protected.” We have a right to question political ads and 1/9

purported “facts” such ads assert in advocacy for candidates & issues. Katie Abraham was in a vehicle rear-ended by a vehicle whose driver fled. [FN2] Arrested in Texas was Julio Cucul-Bol, a Guatemalan national. [FN3] There are problems with the narrative in the ad. 2/9

The crime that Cucul-Bol committed was not murder, a crime of specific intent. [FN4] The lead charge was for driving drunk/causing death. [FN5] While trump called Katie’s father on stage at a rally & the Chicago “surge” was dedicated to her, it’s odd to blame Gov Pritsker. 3/9

Cucul-Bol had been deported during Pres Obama’s administration, in 2016. After his arrest in 2025, he was charged with possessing a false permanent resident card, possessing a false Social Security card, false use of a passport. [FN6] Another view to consider? 4/9

Last fall, “Katie Abraham’s mother, Denise Lorence, spoke out against Operation Midway Blitz. ‘It's not consistent with who she was. ... She was compassionate. She was empathetic. She was caring. She was loving beyond belief." [FN7] 5/9

So “Ted for IL” Dabrowski should consider the tens of thousands who die each year as a result of gun violence, before joining trump in cheerleading about dedicating an ICE pogrom dedicated to someone who might have objected. Somebody should ask: “Who’s the Mom?” 6/9
