The supreme deity of the Old Testament (“OT”) speaks directly to humans > 2,000 times. [FN1] In no instance is that deity depicted as kicking back, relaxing w/a wineskin & conversing. The humans are not laid-back, either. They know this supreme deity can be a murderous prick. 1/8
Micah Beckwith [FN2] says “the Lord” talked to him about January 6. [FN3] Specifically, that “the Lord” had sent “those riots” and it was “the Lord’s” hand at work. [FN4] Beckwith’s words carry me back to when I was a kid and had to shovel horse [manure] out of a barn. 2/8
A candidate for public office who says he talks w/a supreme about political issues should either (1) elicit laughter or (2) scare the crap out of everyone. The Jan 7 selfie, betw mannerisms & his cadence of voice, makes Beckwith look like he’s making it up on the fly. But there’s more! 3/8
In the Sept 2023 interview, Beckwith added details: “He took me to Nebuchadnezzar. God sent Nebuchadnezzar to destroy Israel. So it was God using a wicked King—God uses wicked people all the time. So I believe that the Lord is doing and allowing—and even sending at times... 4/8
people to do things like what we saw on January 6. Now, I don't think it was an insurrection by any stretch of the imagination.” [FN5] So, when Beckwith’s talk w/the supreme deity is doubted, Beckwith adds to the stuff he said before. And Beckwith didn’t say “I trembled..” 5/8
A scoop shovel can get pretty heavy, but tossing crap is sometimes necessary. Going forward, if Beckwith has more of these divine talks, he should record them or, going old school, write them down w/quill on parchment. Otherwise, ppl should realize: Beckwith lies. 6/8
