“The Grey Man,” a Netflix movie about a rogue CIA killer (Ryan Gosling). Screen time spent in shoot-outs was significant. With scores of actors “dead” and big chunks of Prague and Vienna depicted as lying in ruins, guns are used to shoot the main guy at the end. Why? 1/4
Movies are produced to meet demand, but then perpetuate the demand. Acting, scenery, special effects of “The Grey Man” were good. The vicious cycle to meet demand created by prior flicks is mundane and harmful. Usually our daily disputes are not resolved by guns or violence. 2/4
Oscar Wilde said: life imitates art. Gun culture blames video games, but adults and kids learn behavior from movies. The last James Bond flick I saw consisted of shoot-outs & martial arts fights with very little dialogue. People are conditioned to suck this up & demand more. 3/4
People get ramped up by movie. As I’ve said, the first step against gun violence is: don’t own a gun. I’m Mark Small: pro-choice, pro environment, pro-civil rts & anti-gun GOP nominee for IN House Distr 86. I approve of this blog. Hell, I wrote it. 4/4
