Re-cap & half-time score: America 5 CN 0

It’s half-time! “Christian” nationalists (CN) were called out on assertions that the USA was founded as “Christian.” Support for those assertions must be in official records or any documents from the founding era & of undisputed authenticity. [FN86] To re-cap: 1/15

USA, a political entity [FN87] began no earlier than 7/4/1776. The Declaration of Independence (“Declaration”) did not create a government. [FN88] It borrows terms [FN89] from deism [FN90] to describe “God” & doesn’t mention Jesus Christ. Score: America 1 CN 0. 2/15

Congress authorized drafting a charter of government and that was the Articles of Confederation, [FN91] a document that mentions “Governor of the World,” a deist term. [FN92] In the “Year of Our Lord” [FN93] is of no meaning. [FN94] America 2 CN 0. 3/15

The Treaty of Paris ended the Revolutionary War and effusively mentions “God” for one of the two nations signing. It’s just that ours was not the country in question. It was England. [FN95] One more score for America. America 3 CN 0. 4/15

As noted previously, documents that called for the 1787 convention in Philadelphia or documents from that convention make no mention of Jesus Christ or a Christian deity. [FN96] There are two more scores for America against zero-zilch-nada for “Christian” nationalists. 5/15

With America up 5-0, we head to state ratification conventions. If the tone of this blog seems flippant: it is. We are in dark times. I’ve not cussed in today’s blog. That’s surprising, so I can live with “flippant. 6/15
