Where the far left and far right overlap for fun and enlightenment

More on Micah Beckwith's conversations & my discussion with Rev Dr Sid Hall about the "God" of the right wing

The last couple of days I’ve blogged about Micah Beckwith’s conversations. God, it seems, has a dialogue with Beckwith and has confided “I sent those riots [meaning Jan 6] to Washington” and “What you saw yesterday [Jan 6] was my hand at work.” 1/5

Beckwith quotes from these talks, so it’s not Beckwith’s “inspiration” and description. Auditory hallucinations have many causes. Then again, if there is a realm of such beings, it is possible the source of the voice Beckwith hears is the dude from “down there.” 2/5

Whether Beckwith imagines these talks or is possessed by demons, one must wonder why the right wing’s supreme deity is so hateful & racist. Tomorrow, Feb 1 at 7 p.m., on Civil Discourse now, we shall discuss this phenomenon and whether it is, at best, without foundation. 3/5

Our guest will be Rev. Dr. Sid Hall, a native of Kokomo, Indiana, and a retired United Methodist and United Church of Christ pastor. Sid served churches in Indiana and Texas for 42 years, 33 as the lead pastor at Trinity Church of Austin, and now resides near Fort Collins, CO. 4/5

Sid is the author of two books, “Christian Antisemitism and Paul’s Theology” and “Three Mystics Walk Into A Tavern.” Sid is known as an activist with the heart of a mystic and has the honor of having been arrested with Martin Luther King’s daughter and Gandhi’s grandson. 5/5
