A former pres, speaking Friday to the NRA, repeated the lie that you need a good guy w/a gun to beat a bad guy w/a gun. Lying is what trump does, but after mass shootings in Buffalo & Uvalde, where police had guns, one concept needs to be addressed. “You have to fight fire w/fire.” 1/6

The phrase is a mantra to defenders of private ownership of assault rifles & magazines that hold more than 5 rounds. The fire in New Mexico was exacerbated by planned burns, that seek to burn potential fuel in the path of a fire. And more guns just mean more deaths. Scarier? 2/6

trump criticized local police departments, as he discussed crime, and said if he is elected again, he will take charge of those “departments”. Those of you who voted for trump for reasons other than blind MAGA worship have to see the earmarks of someone who wants a police state. 3/6

For some gun culture is a sick fetish. @guyrelford promotes gun culture. If a mass shooter surfed the web, found & listened to his show, I doubt the shooter’s urge to kill was dulled. Cheering on guns on radio, on TV & in everyday conversation has created this environment. 5/6
