1 benefit of candidacy 4 Indiana State Rep is organizations want to know where I stand on their pet issues. “Hoosier Gun Rights” & “National Association for Gun Rights” sent me a “candidate Survey” to be completed & signed by 3/4/22. Two items are @ the end. 1/8

“Please Note: Failure to answer a question will be graded as an anti-gun answer.”& “My signature affirms that the answers given above accurately represent my beliefs as a candidate for State Representative in the 2022 election.” I could tear it up, flush it & be 100% anti-gun! 2/8

Of 10 questions some are compound or assume things that aren’t true. “Would you support laws protecting Indiana residents by prohibiting state and federal law-enforcement from enforcing unconstitutional federal infringements on the Second Amendment?” 3/8

CDC, since mid-90s, have been prevented from sponsoring peer-review studies of gun violence as a health issue. Guns ppl like to say that guns “protect” ppl, i.e., have a net deterrent effect on crime, but w/o peer review studies, who can say? Also, the 2nd Amend isn’t so broad. 4/8

Other questions are about background checks, gun-free zones and “red-flag” legislation. I was all ready to chuck the thing, and then I came to: “8. Would you oppose any proposal that would have Indiana apply for a so-called ‘Convention of State,’ ‘Constitutional Convention,’... 5/8

or other compact for the purpose of proposing amendments to the United States Constitution, because of the dangers they pose to the Second Amendment?” An info page that says “Hillary Clinton, George Soros and other left-wing activists” are for this. 6/8

1. Sec’y Clinton & Mr Soros both oppose such a convention. 2. They are not left-wing. 3. CDC can’t so Indiana should have peer-review studies of gun violence. 3. If those studies show hand guns cause more violence than they prevent? We should move toward a total ban. 7/8
