GOP nominee for Lt Gov Beckwith has a very narrow World view

Micah Beckwith, GOP nominee for IN Lt Gov, hits media every day w/brilliant insights that let us see what we can expect if Hoosiers vote for the GOP ticket and Beckwith becomes Indiana’s Lt Gov, just down the hall and a heartbeat away from the Office of Governor! 1/7

Beckwith’s latest: “Multiculturalism is a very bad thing. We do not want ‘multi’ cultures. We want assimilation into the American way of life. And if you will not do that, then you do not belong here, so we are going to find you and we are going to remove you.” [FN1] 2/7

For too long we have turned a blind eye to encroachments on our American culture! This will not be easy. There’s lots to do. Foreign influences invade our lives each day. We need to address these very bad things by category. The most obvious is first. 3/7

Food, we ingest every day. Pizza, spaghetti, etc.: in “The Natural,” Red, assistant manager of the Knights says of Italian food, “I can’t pronounce it, but it sure eats good.” [FN2] Not any more, it doesn’t. How about ordering out Chinese? You want it so bad, move there. And so on... 4/7

Technology, we use every day, but might be using us instead. Cars? Germany in 1888. [FN3] Suspension bridges? Indigenous ppl. Transistors (Austria-Hungary), compass (China), CAT scans & mathematics (Africa), telescope (Netherlands), and comic strips (Switzerland). 5/7

The truth: the USA is a society of many cultures. Republican Micah Beckwith has a narrow view of the World and of our country. It’s her/his right to be stupid, but not to impose that stupidity on the rest of us. Remember: follow Cassie Jackson on Facebook. #BrainsNotBraun 6/7
