The “unsinkable” HMS Titanic sank in April, 1912. Dave MacDonald lost control as he exited Turn 4 on the second lap of the 1964 Indy 500. Eddie Sachs hit him. Both men died. Space Shuttle Challenger exploded in the sky shortly after lift-off in January, 1986. 2/11

Those catastrophes brought changes, including but not limited to: HMS Titanic, numbers of life boats on passenger liners; Indy 500: redesign of fuel tanks & other measures to reduce fuel in the race cars; Challenger: NASA redesigned solid rocket boosters. 3/11

Marshawn Kneeland, a 2nd round pick of the Dallas Cowboys in the 2024 draft died this week. “Officers found Kneeland at 1:31 a.m. ‘deceased with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.’" [FN2] Well over half of gun deaths are suicides. [FN3] [FN4] 5/11

In the aftermath of mass shootings & other gun tragedies, gun idiots complain that people who want the return of gun control as it was allow to exist before SCOTUS was hacked, jump on a band wagon opportunistically. No: we need to resolve a problem like in NASA, etc. 6/11

To gun idiots, as John Goodman’s character in Treme said: fuck you, you motherfucking fucks. We need to block access to firearms. Sure, we need to address mental health because people who are in deep depression shouldn’t have access to lethal force. 7/11

Fuck your “thoughts and prayers,” your lobbyists’ propaganda and your self-righteous, smug bullshit. Let’s cut up a couple of aircraft carriers & buy out guns like Australia did in the mid-1990s. We need to make changes to stop the suicide carnage. 8/11
