Where the far left and far right overlap for fun and enlightenment

Hoosiers have to know the candidates on the ballot in November’s general election. The GOP [FN1] ticket for Gov/Lt Gov is Braun/Beckwith. Because people think IN Lt Gov can’t do very much, a nominee for #2, such as Micah Beckwith, garners little attention. 1/13

Hoosiers should pay attention. Lt Gov: a) is “President of the Senate” w/“a right” in committee of the whole to debate & vote & when the “Senate shall be equally divided, [s/he] shall give the casting vote.” [FN2] b) has statutory powers. [FN3] & c) becomes Gov if Gov dies. [FN4] 2/13

Hoosiers need elected officials who believe in equal protection of the law. [FN5] [FN6] Beckwith thinks only Christians can be moral [FN7] & USA was created by/for benefit of Christians. These beliefs threaten our rights to religious opinions, conscience & religion. [FN8][FN9] 3/13

Hoosiers saw, in 1924, bigots take control of Indiana’s GOP. Claiming to be “true” Christians and casting, as “evil,” Roman Catholics, people of other beliefs and non-white people, the KKK lost power only after its leader was convicted of homicide. [FN10] 4/13

Hoosiers need to be aware of certain dates. a) Last day to register to vote Oct. 7; b) First day of early, in-person early voting in Indiana: October 8. I’ll list, starting w/ this blog, reasons why Beckwith is unfit to serve as IN LT Gov. I’ll link citations to each reason. 5/13

If ea person who reads this is able to convince just one person that Beckwith’s unfit, that’s good.
And, yeah, not voting for Beckwith means not voting for Braun. You don’t get to split your vote. And one final note: #BrainsNotBraun. 6/13

FN1. This is not “the party of Lincoln,” or even the party of Richard Lugar. If you always vote GOP because that’s how your family always has voted, please research and reconsider.
