Odd is the juxtaposition of a pic of a bearded IN Lt Gov Beckwith over a header from the IndyStar: “Gov. Mike Braun signed an executive order urging the state government to collaborate with faith-based institutions to service Hoosiers.” A thousand words aren’t enough. 1/7
Executive Order 26-06 is titled: “Fostering Indiana’s Faith-based Institutions.”
1) Among 10 “whereas” clauses in Braun’s Executive Order are an observation that Hoosiers have a long and proud tradition of faith since this State’s founding in 1816" yet ... 2/7
“the State must not advance or inhibit religious expression” and “the State must not discriminate against faith-based providers of services that are otherwise qualified to provide services to Hoosiers.” Indiana’s 1851 Constitution separates church and State. [FN1] 3/7
2) The Order professes not to advance religion over non-religion, but only fosters “faith-based” providers of services to Hoosiers.
3) Worse, “the Office of Lieutenant Governor shall spear-head this initiative.” 4/7
IN Lt Gov Micah Beckwith is a bigot: he has said that only Christians have the capacity to be moral. [FN2] The only experience that Beckwith has of late in counseling people would seem to have been in the course of recent sex scandals in his church. 5/7
If money is provided to IN’s LT Gov to toss to his buddies, in an “annual report” citizens might see details of expenditures. One definition of the verb “service” is what a male animal does to a female animal when it mates. [FN3] Hoosiers will get serviced some more! 6/7

FN2. 10/24/19 video titled “The Church’s role in politics”: Beckwith says “the church” provides the morality America was founded on and that you cannot be moral if you are a “Hindu, an atheist or a Jew.”
