To A.G. Bondi: "Birthright citizenship" was decided long ago

The A.G. this afternoon stated that “birthright citizenship will be determined in October.” [FN1]. My very brief post on Facebook was too short. This expands on that earlier post and is directed to the Attorney General, Pam Bondi: 1/7

Birthright citizenship will not be decided in October. It was made necessary by 250 years of slavery. In the Dred Scott case, Taney, CJ [FN2] writing for the Court, framed the question:
“Can a negro, whose ancestors were imported into this country, and sold as slaves, 2/7

become a member of the political community formed & brought into existence by the Constitution of the United States, and as such become entitled to all the rights, and privileges, and immunities, guarantied by that instrument to the citizen?...” Taney said no: 3/7

“They had for more than a century before been regarded as beings of an inferior order, and altogether unfit to associate with the white race, either in social or political relations; and so far inferior, that they had no rights which the white man was bound to respect...” 4/7

The numbers of people who died in servitude, between 1619 and 1865, are in the millions, but no exact count is possible. Some half-million soldiers who fought for the Union died in the Civil War, a conflict made necessary because of the evils of slavery. 5/7

Birthright citizenship was determined long ago & made part of The Constitution, after millions died. That you, the foreign asset in the Oval Office, and others in the administration are unaware of this determination in our history is disgusting, but then the lot of you are disgusting. 6/7

Footnotes:
FN1. October is when the six justices of the ongoing majority of the Roberts Court, are scheduled to return from summer vacation to resume evisceration of the Constitution.
FN2. Scott v Stanford, 60 U.S. 393 (1857). The Taney Court was considered the worst, until the Roberts Court metastasized w/its 6 right wing majority. 7/7
