Where the far left and far right overlap for fun and enlightenment

There should be no talk of "civil war"

Since 11/05, maga people are giddy. For years they have yearned to grab 2A stockpiles & settle old scores. Their green light will turn “on” if trump takes office & declares “civil war.” But civil war is neither “civil” nor “war.” U.S. statute defines war: 1/10

“armed conflict, whether or not war has been declared, between two or more nations; or armed conflict between military forces of any origin.” [FN1] The Constitution gives Congress the power to declare war. [FN2] The U.S. has fought five wars. [FN3] 2/10

Our last war ended 9/2/45 w/Japan’s surrender. [FN4] The 13 colonies, in 1776, were not yet a country when independence from England was declared. That was not a war. Likewise, after the 1860 election of Abraham Lincoln as President, there was no “Civil War.” 3/10

Lincoln refused to recognize as an independent country the States that seceded. People had no clue about the carnage that was about to ensue. [FN 5] Successful attacks on the U.S. by foreign powers have been few. [FN6] People spouting off about civil war actually espouse 4/10

criminal acts in furtherance of the insurrection of Jan 6. Many “2A” advocates chuckle about a gun culture [FN7] that kills tens of thousands each year; some even laud their poster boy, Tim McVeigh. Violence is not a solution. + they fail to understand: a hostile foreign power 5/10

directs trump world. Putin’s laughing & pancaking earlier wrongs. George W Bush did not win in 2000, but planted Roberts & Alito on the bench. In 2016, the Oval Office was stolen & trump put Gorsuch, Kavanaugh & Barrett in lifetime positions for graft. 6/10

A nat’l emergency was declared/personified by trump, who promised to destroy The Constitution that, on 1/20/17, s/he swore to “preserve, protect and defend.” Pres Biden needs to suspend the results of 2024's elections. (And remember: follow Cassie Jackson on Facebook.) 7/10
