Where the far left and far right overlap for fun and enlightenment

The Roberts Court: sluts have fun, whores get paid.

Amateurs play for free. Professionals get paid. Courts decide cases on their merits and treat all parties equally. Roberts, C.J., says his job “is to call balls and strikes,” but baseball is not an apt metaphor, especially after Citizens United. [FN1] SCOTUS allows donors of political cash 1/8

to be cloaked in anonymity. The Brennan Center has reported on the tons of cash that case has allowed. Say “baseball” and “corruption” and a baseball fan might reply “Blacksox.” People tried to “fix” the 1919 World Series. No umpires were involved. Now, turn to SCOTUS today. 2/8

We know the corruption of Thomas, J., goes back decades. Alito, J., got cool trips from rich guys w/cases before the Court. [FN3] The CJ’s wife made eight figures placing attorneys w/”white stocking” firms. [FN4] Then there are three seats on today’s Court were filled by trump. 3/8

Gorsuch, J., sold land to a partner in one of the nation’s biggest firms nine (9) days after Gorsuch was confirmed. Gorsuch voted “for” clients of that firm in at least eight of 12 cases. [FN5] Kavanaugh, J., had hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt wiped out - twice. [FN6] 4/8

Last is Barrett, J. , who refused to recuse herself from a case brought by a PAC that seven figures on her confirmation. [FN7] She voted for the PAC & “dark money.” [FN8] And we are told her title of “handmaiden” in a religious group is coincidence. 5/8

The six GOP SCOTUS justices are lined up and waiting. In the next 14 or 15 months we might see the scuttling of The Constitution. Sluts have fun. Whores get paid. They not only are getting paid to tear down this government. They’re having fun. 6/8
