The Constitution is a document that memorializes what “We the People” created. The document is relatively short. [FN1] History relevant to its creation would date back to Europeans’ first interactions w/indigenous peoples & include the start of chattel slavery of Africans. [FN2] 1/11
The Declaration of Independence gave notice: 13 colonies were a nation. Their government, as established by Articles of Confederation, “consisted only of Congress” w/neither “an executive branch nor courts.” [FN3] The 1787 Convention’s scope was limited. [FN4] Called to order 2/11
on May 25, [FN5] delegates began to create a framework for government. The document signed on 09/17 prescribed a means for amendment [FN6] and required ratification by conventions in the States. [FN7] The Framers worried about foreign intervention in elections. [FN8] 3/11
We have been promised by trump that s/he will be a dictator. Putin has sought to intervene in the elections of other countries, since Putin had so much success here & installed his own puppet. We have a Constitution that forbids insurrectionists from holding any office. [FN9] 4/11
That means trump and any other office holders, Fed or State, cannot hold office. The Framers presumed people with honor would hold office and would act so as to prevent those w/talents for “low intrigue and the little arts of popularity” from holding office. [FN10] 5/11
This country only has glimpsed greatness. After WWII, women, Black & indigenous peoples had fought for civil rights and equality & began to see those rights protected. Those beginnings were shut down because of their success. Follow Cassie Jackson on Facebook 6/11
The Constitution has not been amended to allow for a change of our gov’t from Republican to a dictatorship where Putin pulls the strings, as Putin seeks to do in Romania, Ukraine, Georgia and here. Pres Biden must invoke emergency powers & block trump from taking office. 7/11
