Near the top of the list “Most Ghastly Things a Candidate for Political Office” is people who do not follow the same “god” as the candidate are unable to be moral. Specifically, Micah Beckwith [FN1] said: “You can’t be moral if you’re not Christian.” [FN2] Beckwith wants power, but 1/13

the U.S. Constitution states everyone has a right to “equal protection of the laws.” [FN3] We are protected, by the First Amendment, from zealots who try to impose theocracy on us. [FN4] The
Indiana Constitution protects equal privileges & immunities, [FN5] freedom of religious 2/13

opinions and rights of conscience [FN6] and freedom of religion. [FN7] Beckwith seems not to understand these restrictions. Last year, Beckwith welcomed Sean Feucht and Feucht’s 05/07/23 “Kingdom to the Capitol” tour. Beckwith noted “Him and I are very similar...” [FN8] 3/13

Feucht has said “that America should be governed according to biblical law for the benefit of believers, as a way to prepare for the second coming of Christ. ‘It’s all part of The King coming back.’” [FN9] A person has to bastardize our constitutions to say this is our government. 4/13

Here are questions that Beckwith should answer. If Beckwith is elected on Braun’s coattails:
When you take the oath of office and swear to protect and defend the constitution, will you ask that an asterisk be inserted, to the effect of “not really”? 5/13

In office, will you only appoint or hire persons who are “moral”?
Does that mean you only appoint or hire people of the Christian faith?
Will you define who really is “Christian,” since many people who are devout in that faith consider you and your views repugnant? 6/13

Last year, when you wrote about your pal Feucht coming to Indy, you said: “One thing we should always remember is that we cannot pet a demon. That is to say if we just play nice with evil, evil will leave us alone.” In a way, you’re right We know you won’t leave us alone. 7/13
