Criticism of Micah Beckwith for his “chats” w/”The Lord” does not infringe Beckwith’s rights under U.S. [FN1] and/or Indiana [FN2] constitutions. Beckwith’s religious beliefs, no matter how absurd, are matters into which gov’t cannot inquire. [FN3] Beckwith wants more. 1/10
Beckwith is using religion to grab political power. Beckwith is unfit to hold political office for a lot of valid reasons. In 2023, s/he was under media radar & said he would be a “thorn” in the side of a governor who steps “away from constitutional or conservative values.” [FN4] 2/10
“There’s no doubt about this, I’m in charge, and Micah is going to be someone that works with me. If he doesn’t, I think that means it will probably not be as fruitful.”[FN5] Braun’s limp vow followed Beckwith’s win over Braun’s choice for Lt Gov at June’s State convention. 3/10
Tension still appears between Braun & Beckwith. An 8/27/24 email announces Washington Twp GOP’s Lincoln Day Dinner and adds “this will be the only event Mike Braun will be in attendance for with Micah Beckwith doing the introductions. [FN6] What if? 4/10
Beckwith is sworn into office as IN LT Lt Gov. A couple of weeks into office & after Braun has snubbed Beckwith for the 5th or 6th day in a row, Beckwith decides to be that thorn of which he spoke in 2023, calls the media & holds a press conference. Beckwith speaks: 5/10
“‘The Lord’ spoke to me and said, ‘Micah [FN7], the governor is an ungodly man. His refusal to appoint you to the agencies I want you to run is sin!’” No one has demanded audio of Beckwith’s talks w/”the Lord.” Don’t say: “You cannot tempt ‘God’!” She’s not part of this. 6/10
