One should not try to “fix” something that is not broken. This is a less-colloquial form of “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.” In some States (e.g., Michigan) ppl are advocating showing up at polling sites for elections w/firearms. There is no valid reason for guns at the polls. 1/4
1st Amendment rights R ltd in polling sites: no electioneering allowed. I.C. §3-14-3-16. Guns R not allowed under IN’s new laws on School Property (I.C. §35-47-9), in Airports & Aircraft (I.C. §35-47-6), on Riverboat Casinos (68 IAC §1-7-1). The only reason people want 2/4
to carry guns at polling sites is to intimidate those w/whom those who “carry” disagree. There’ve been no reports of rampant violent crime at the polls. Claims of improprieties in 2020's elections have been shown to be baseless. Even if true, presence of guns is not an answer.3/4
1st Amend is restricted @ polls & so should 2A. I’m anti-gun. We shouldn’t allow guns at the polls. I’m Mark Small. I’m pro-choice, pro environment, pro-civil rts & anti-gun. I’m GOP cand for Indiana House Distr 86. I approve of this blog. Hell, I wrote it. 4/4
