A lie repeated 100 times is a lie. Tomorrow (11/07/23) Indy voters, who’ve not voted early, cast ballots for two offices, Mayor and City-County counselor. Jefferson Shreve, GOP candidate for mayor, says incumbent Mayor Joe Hogsett failed to respond to the 2020 BLM “riots.” 1/10

1 A “riot”: an “assemblage of three or more persons in a public place taking concerted action in a turbulent and disorderly manner for a common purpose...” [FN1] 2 The persons assembled “create a breach of the peace.” [FN2] In 1960s riots (e.g., Watts) destroyed wide swaths 2/10

of cities and many more died. [FN3] Under any definition, however, culpability for a riot is ascribed to those who cause the disorder. The “whole world” watched on TV, in 1968, as riots occurred in Chicago outside the Democratic national convention in Chicago. A commission 3/10

called that 1968 violence a “police riot.” [FN4.] In 2020 some saw parallels between Chicago in 1968 and gratuitous acts of police violence during BML protests. [FN5] Many who are outraged by Indy’s broken windows downtown in 2020, refuse to acknowledge 01/06/21 was a riot. 4/10

3 In early 2023, it was revealed the FBI recruited “a violent felon” to infiltrate Denver’s BLM, who then “encouraged protesters to engage in increasingly violent demonstrations while trying to entrap them in criminal misdeeds.” [FN6] Mayor Hogsett appointed an independent 5/10

review panel to find out what happened during the 2020 “riots.” The headline of one article sums it up: “cops, not protestors, started the riots.” [FN7] Right after the January 6, 2021, insurrection & riot, some on the far right said to the rioters were FBI informants. [FN8] 6/10

As guilty pleas rose in number & more 1/6 rioters were ID’d in social media, MAGA complaints of FBI “plants” disappeared. One “tell”: no one has asserted this as a defense in their prosecution for January 6. The lies are meant to prop up white racism as it enters its death throes. 7/10
