Todd Rokita, Indiana’s AG, has weighed in on the case of the 10-year-old Ohio rape victim, who had to travel to Indiana to obtain an abortion. Rokita said “we’re going to fight this to the end, including looking at [the doctor’s] her licensure if she failed to report.” 1/5
That’s bad enough, but then he added: “This is a child, and there’s a strong public interest in understanding if someone under the age of 16 or under the age of 18 or really any woman is having abortion in our state.” Rokita in every woman’s uterus is a scary notion. 2/5
The 10-year-old child was a rape victim. A man has been charged in Ohio for the offense. Even Gym Jordan removed comments he made on Twitter about the little girl. If the girl’s rape was reported to authorities in Ohio, it can be argued I.C. 33-35-1, et seq, has be met. 3/5
That probably will make little difference to Rokita. In recent rankings of Insufferable Pricks in the U.S., Rokita’s in the top 5. Rokita is an elected public official always in search of higher office so he can impose his hateful beliefs on others. Pregnancy from rape is traumatic. 4/ 5
When the victim is 10-years-old the trauma is unfathomable, but Rokita can’t fathom much. I’m Mark Small: pro-choice, pro environment, pro-civil rts & anti-gun GOP nominee for Indiana House Distr 86. I approve of this blog. Hell, I wrote it. 5/5
