Where the far left and far right overlap for fun and enlightenment

Does Micah Beckwith understand what it means to be a "Constitutional conservative"?

Ham County preacher/political wannabe Micah Beckwith wished everybody Happy Natl Choc Chip Cookie Day & referred to principles we hold dear as “Christians [&] Const’l conservatives.” Here’s a time line. 2020: he lost the GOP primary INCD5. 2023: Beckwith “won” w/o notice 1/6

on the agenda, a seat on Ham East Library Board. Books he hasn’t read, but objected to, were moved (est cost: $300K) to the library’s adult section.. 2024: he’s running 4 IN Lt Gov & has a chance since GOP State convention, not primary voters, nominate Lt Gov.Beckwith also 2/6

hasn’t read much about the Constitution. A const’l conservative “believes in adhering to the principles of the U.S. Constitution” as written & intended by the framers. (Leader Call, 3/10/23). Beckwith wants us to think of The Constitution as it was in 1787 & ignore all the amendments 3/6

& history that followed. At the Convention, Art V, the Amendment provision, was debated & accepted. Labunski, James Madison and the Struggle for the Bill of Rights, p. 127. The Framers intended to allow The Constitution to be amended, but could not foresee specific 4/6

amendments. In The Civil War > 650K died & Amend XIII (slavery ended), XIV (individual rts vs States’ powers) & XV (former slaves’ rt to vote) were a result. Parties are bound to a contract when “consideration,” something given up to obtain a benefit, passes. Many died in The 5/6

Civil War. The South lost. The Constitution was amended as intended. Repeal of The Civil War amendments is the goal of many “Constitutional conservatives” a/k/a white supremacists. Micah Beckwith can disagree that he’s a white supremacist. If not, voters should not be fooled. 6/6
