Where the far left and far right overlap for fun and enlightenment

"Constitutionalist" would-be candidate for IN Lt Gov is not "brilliant"

Johnny Depp’s Edd Wood, one of the worst directors in film history, says, “Brilliant!” defined, in this context, as “having or showing great intelligence or keenness.” [FN1] The word has been used by some to describe a candidacy for IN Lt Gov. Micah Beckwith [FN2] 1/14

wants to be the GOP nominee for IN Lt Gov. The GOP nominee for Gov is determined by voters in the primary. [FN3] Nominee for Lt Gov is chosen on June 15 at the State convention. [FN4] Diego Morales used this plan in 2022 to be Sec’y of State. [FN5] 2/14

Beckwith cut a YouTube video saying he wants “to give the delegates their voices back,” [FN6] because the GOP primary winner for Governor picks “their favorite yes man.” Beckwith asserts w/a confidence born of ignorance. Delegates: 3/14

A) to the most recent GOP State convention nominated Mr Morales over incumbent Holli Sullivan. [FN7] Those delegates had a voice.
B) to the 6/15 convention are chosen in the May 7 primary & haven’t had a chance to speak. 4/14

Indiana’s two most recent Lt Govs, Gov Eric Holcomb and Lt Gov Suzanne Crouch, might break it to Beckwith that they disagree w/his “favorite yes man” comment, or else Beckwith simply is breaking wind. 5/14

A post on twitter [FN8] says “a Constitutionalist, Micah Beckwith promises to always protect our rights” is silly. Of several meanings of “Constitutionalist,” “Constitution” is common to each. [FN9] IN’s Const defines & describes authority of the office of Lt Gov. [FN10] 6/14

Beckwith as thorn in the side of IN’s gov contradicts IN’s Const. [FN11] Beckwith will violate, not protect, the rights of primary voters who nominated the GOP candidate for Gov & if GOP ticket wins, voters who chose a Gov that Beckwith would make a figurehead. 7/14

Beckwith gives little indication of understanding the U.S. or Indiana constitution. He wants to do to Indiana what those of his ilk have done to the Congress. Beckwith’s strategy, to do an end run on voters so can force his views on all of us, is as brilliant as Edd Wood. 8/14
