Beckwith: can't win an election, but can load a convention

Tonight on “Mouthwash,” [FN1] Micah Beckwith [FN2] is a guest. Beckwith is in a YouTube video and explains “How to Become an Indiana GOP Delegate.” That’s important to Beckwith. He wants to be the GOP nominee for Lt Gov. That’s decided at the convention. 1/8

1) Beckwith rattles off names of GOP candidates for Governor in May’s primary. He wants “to give the delegates their voices back” because the GOP primary winner for Governor anoints “their favorite yes man.” Typical for Beckwith: he presumes and offers no proof. 2/8

About past GOP Lt Gov nominees:
a) they might object to the label “yes man” (e.g., Lt Gov Suzanne Crouch, & former Lt Gov Eric Holcomb);
b) Beckwith doesn’t say how they haven’t represented the voice of GOP Hoosiers, or why a GOP Lt Gov should represent ONLY Republican voices. 3/8

2) Beckwith does not want to liberate delegates. If they don’t vote for him he’ll throw a hissy fit.
3) Beckwith as Lt Gov would bring chaos w/o meaningful gain. We learned that last summer. [FN3]. He really wants to be governor. 4/8

As the GOP nominee for Lt Gov, he need only ride the coattails of the primary winner for Gov. In the video, Beckwith implies his audience is not very bright. [FN4] If he is Lt Gov, we’ll see full-on the effects of four years of stupid in that office, unless he assumes office as Gov. 5/8

FN1. John Schmitz’s FaceBook podcast (9 pm EDT); re-broadcast Monday, WHMB 40, 11 pm.
FN2. Hamilton County preacher, lost 2020 GOP primary for INCD5; resigned, board member of Hamilton East Public Library (HEPL); says he seeks 2024 GOP nomination IN Lt Gov.. 6/8

FN3. Beckwith, briefly in a 4-3 right wing majority board of Hamilton East Public Libr (HEPL) pushed policy that forced the library to waste money. Once he no longer was in the majority, he participated remotely and quit. 7/8

FN4. “Elections can seem complicated and confusing. Thanks government.” (0:35) “Annoyingly complicated.” (2:30) 8/8
